Indonesia Q1 Current Account Deficit Widens to 1.09% GDP
Bank Indonesia reported a current account deficit of 4 billion dollars for the first quarter of 2026 as corporate dividend and coupon payments increased. The central bank expects the annual deficit to remain between 0.5 and 1.3 percent of gross domestic product.

Indonesia recorded a $4 billion current account deficit in the first quarter of 2026, representing 1.09% of its gross domestic product. The gap widened from a $2.5 billion deficit in the final quarter of 2025. This expansion is significant as corporate outflows for dividends and coupons are increasing.
