SEBI Proposes Consolidated Pay Disclosure for Fund Managers

The Securities and Exchange Board of India proposed on Wednesday that asset managers disclose executive pay on a consolidated basis to protect privacy. Investors would still be able to request specific remuneration data for fund managers of the schemes they hold.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India proposed on Wednesday to allow asset managers to disclose executive pay on a consolidated rather than individual basis. The regulator found current individual reporting covers only 2% to 10% of the workforce across 36 of 51 analysed firms. This shift balances investor transparency with employee privacy by reducing the public exposure of personal salary data.
