India raises fuel prices by 3 rupees per litre on Friday

India raised petrol and diesel prices by approximately 3 rupees per litre on May 15. The hike is the first retail fuel price adjustment in the country in four years. It allows state-run retailers to recover losses following a surge in global energy costs.
### Global Supply Disruptions Force Price Hikes Retailers in Delhi confirmed on Friday that diesel now costs 90.67 rupees per litre, while petrol reached 97.77 rupees. The price adjustment follows a volatile period for Brent Crude Oil, which spiked above $120 per barrel. Prices later stabilized between $100 and $105 per barrel.
