Indian equity benchmarks rose for a second consecutive session on Wednesday as prospects of a Middle East ceasefire pulled oil prices lower and eased concerns regarding economic growth in India, the world's third-biggest crude importer. The Nifty 50 index climbed 1.72% to close at 23,306.45, while the BSE Sensex added 1.63% to finish at 75,273.45. Despite gaining 3.5% over two days, the benchmarks remain down 7.4% for the month, a period marked by a record $11.37 billion selloff by foreign investors.
