Equity markets in India saw a modest recovery on Friday as investors engaged in value buying to mitigate a week of significant volatility. The Nifty 50 index climbed 0.49% to finish at 23,114.50, while the BSE Sensex rose 0.44% to 74,532.96. Despite the daily gains, the benchmarks concluded the week with marginal losses of 0.16% and 0.04%, respectively, following a sharp 3.3% selloff on Thursday—the steepest single-day decline since mid-2024.
