India is negotiating mineral deals with four nations to secure lithium supplies. The move aims to cut reliance on China and support green energy goals.

India ININ is currently engaged in government-led negotiations with Brazil BRBR, Canada CACA, France FRFR, and the Netherlands NLNL to establish partnerships for the exploration, extraction, processing, and recycling of critical minerals. These discussions, which focus primarily on the critical minerals sector (lithium and rare earths), are part of a broader strategy by the Ministry of Mines (India) to secure domestic supply chains and gain access to advanced mineral-processing technologies. The talks are intended to reduce the nation's reliance on dominant global suppliers and support its energy transition by building both upstream and downstream mineral capacity.
