India's IT Sector Faces Slower Growth Amid U.S. Demand Concerns

Nine brokerages predict a slowdown in revenue growth for India's top IT firms, forecasting around 4% for the December quarter. This deceleration is attributed to weak U.S. demand and macroeconomic challenges.

洞察:
India's IT sector is bracing for a challenging earnings season as nine prominent brokerages forecast a slowdown in growth for the country's top six IT firms. The firms are expected to report approximately 4% year-on-year revenue growth and 5% profit growth for the December quarter, marking a significant deceleration from the 6.5% revenue growth achieved in the previous quarter. This downturn is attributed to tepid demand from the United States, holiday-period client shutdowns, and broader macroeconomic headwinds, including tariff uncertainty and proposed visa fee increases.
The earnings season will commence with Tata Consultancy Services on January 12. The company is expected to report a 4.2% increase in revenue year-on-year, down from the 5.6% growth seen last year. Meanwhile, Infosys is forecasted to achieve an 8.1% revenue growth, slightly up from the 7.6% in the previous year, but brokerages do not anticipate any guidance upgrades. HCL Technologies is projected to see a 4.6% growth, compared to 5.1% last year, with no expected adjustments to its fiscal 2026 forecast.
