India Diesel Shipments to SE Asia Reach Seven Year High
India diesel exports to Southeast Asia hit a seven-year high in March as traders shifted supply. Reliance Industries led the surge amid regional disruptions.
India has recorded its highest level of diesel exports to Southeast Asia in over seven years this March. Shipping data indicates that traders are shifting supplies to cover short positions while refiners capitalize on increased profit margins across Asia. This trend is largely driven by market volatility stemming from the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
Approximately 1 million metric tons of diesel have been transported along this route, with nearly half of the total volume destined for Singapore. Data from analytics firm Kpler suggests that roughly 90% of these shipments were handled by Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co., which operates significant refining infrastructure.
