IKEA announces major expansion and investment plan in India

IKEA announced a 200 billion rupee investment in India to expand its store network and quadruple sales. The firm will also double its production capacity.

Inter IKEA Holding B.V. has announced a major expansion plan to more than double its investment in India ININover the next five years. The company intends to commit more than 200 billion rupees, which is approximately 2.20 billion in US Dollar / Indian Rupee terms, to strengthen its footprint in the country. This strategic move by the Sweden SESEbased retailer involves increasing its store count from the current six to a total of 30 locations and working toward a goal to quadruple its sales.
