The International Energy Agency (IEA), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the World Bank have announced the formation of a joint coordination group to mitigate the economic and energy shocks caused by the escalating war in the Middle East. According to a joint statement released on Wednesday, the global institutions aim to align their analysis and support mechanisms to help policymakers navigate a crisis that has triggered some of the largest energy supply shortages in history.
At these times of high uncertainty, it is paramount that our institutions join forces to monitor developments, align analysis, and coordinate support to policymakers to navigate this crisis.
