IDFC First Bank settled claims totaling 6.45 billion rupees regarding suspected fraud in Haryana. The bank confirmed no further discrepancies or pending claims.
IDFC First Bank Limited has finalized a payment of 6.45 billion rupees ($70.18 million) to settle claims related to suspected fraud involving accounts in India. The settlement, linked to entities in the northern state of Haryana, is 550 million rupees higher than the lender's initial estimate of 5.9 billion rupees.
The bank stated that the updated claims are associated with the same incident and that no new material claims have emerged. Following a comprehensive reconciliation of all relevant accounts at the affected branch, the lender found no further discrepancies. Management indicated that this internal audit process is now complete.
