South Korea automaker HYUNDAI MOTOR CO has reported a significant 31% decline in operating profit for the first quarter of 2026, citing a volatile geopolitical landscape and rising material costs. The company, which forms the world's third-largest automotive group alongside KIA CORP, posted an operating profit of 2.5 trillion won ($1.7 billion), down from 3.6 trillion won during the same period last year.
