Hong Kong projects buoyant economic growth to help narrow fiscal deficit

Hong Kong HKHK Financial Secretary Paul Chan delivered his annual budget speech today, projecting that the Hong Kong economy will grow by 2.5%–3.5% this year. During the address, Chan stated that the Hong Kong government expects to return to a more robust fiscal position following several years of budget deficits. This forecast sets the tone for the territory’s near-term economic trajectory as it seeks to stabilize its financial outlook.
