Hindalco Forecasts Steady Novelis Earnings for 2027
Hindalco Industries expects its Novelis unit to achieve earnings of 500 dollars per tonne in fiscal 2027 following recovery from plant disruptions. The company anticipates double-digit growth in Indian aluminium downstream operations while managing rising raw material costs linked to geopolitical tensions.
HINDALCO INDUSTRIES LTD expects its Novelis-based unit to deliver earnings of $500 per tonne in fiscal 2027. The forecast follows a 41.71 billion rupee ($437.59 million) one-time charge in the fourth quarter after fire-related disruptions at the Oswego plant in New York. Managing director Satish Pai said the worst is over for the unit, which generates 60% of group revenue.
### Recovery Path for Novelis and Domestic Growth Novelis reported adjusted EBITDA of $462 per tonne for fiscal 2026. Despite the recent disruptions, Pai expressed confidence in retaining major customers such as FORD MOTOR CO. The executive noted that the Oswego facility impact is now contained, clearing the path for the $500 per tonne target.
