German consumer goods manufacturer Henkel AG & Co. KGaA, based in Germany, is in advanced discussions to acquire the hair care products maker Olaplex Holdings, Inc.. The deal, which could be announced in the coming days, reportedly values the United States-based company at approximately $2 per share. Following the report, shares of Olaplex saw a significant increase, rising over 14% to $1.52 in after-hours trading. The acquisition would bolster Henkel's position in the premium hair care market, though neither company has officially confirmed the negotiations. Both Henkel and Olaplex did not immediately respond to requests for comment following the initial reports.
