Goodwin Shares Fall 35 Percent on Middle East Order Delays
British engineer Goodwin warned of dividend cuts as the Iran conflict delays valve dispatches. Shares fell 35 percent despite a steady annual profit outlook.
Shares of the United Kingdom-based engineering firm Goodwin PLC plummeted on Monday as the company warned of potential dividend cuts linked to geopolitical instability. The board is currently weighing whether to restrict dividend payouts to 38% or less, a move prompted by the escalating conflict in the Middle East which has disrupted project timelines.
The firm, which specializes in mechanical engineering and valve systems for the energy sector, reported that several large contracts in the region have been affected by requests to postpone equipment deliveries. While these delays are expected to shift the timing of revenue recognition, the company clarified that its broader portfolio remains intact.
