China index rebalancing will trigger an estimated $48 billion in two-way passive investment flows later this month. Goldman Sachs analysts identified the shift as major benchmarks undergo semi-annual adjustments to align with national strategic priorities. The reshuffle will force a rotation of capital between sectors, favoring technology and industrial firms over traditional infrastructure and consumer stocks.
### Tech and Industrials Gain Ground The semi-annual index review by China Securities Index Co and Shenzhen Securities Information Co will increase the weight of information technology and telecommunications. Goldman Sachs analysts expect Huagong Tech Co, Yuanjie Semiconductor Technology Co, and Hua Hong Semiconductor Ltd to be primary beneficiaries of net inflows.
