A Global Wind Energy Council report indicates offshore wind capacity will quadruple over the next decade. While China currently leads the market, industry leaders warn that slow planning and grid connection processes remain significant hurdles for future development.

Global offshore wind capacity will quadruple to 420 gigawatts (GW) by the end of 2035. The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) report indicates 327 GW of new capacity will be added over the next decade. The industry reached 92 GW of total installed capacity by the end of 2025, providing power for approximately 100 million homes.
