Germany Pledges 700 Million Euros for Brazil Green Projects
Germany will provide 700 million euros for climate and transport projects in Brazil. The deal was announced during President Lula's visit to Berlin today.
Germany has committed to providing approximately 700 million euros to support climate change and sustainable mobility initiatives in Brazil, according to an announcement by the Brazilian state development bank, BNDES. This significant financial commitment was highlighted during President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's two-day official visit to the European nation, where he met with German officials to discuss environmental cooperation.
The total contribution is divided into two primary tranches. The first, amounting to 500 million euros, is designated for a climate fund managed by BNDES. This fund is specifically designed to support research and finance projects aimed at mitigating the impacts of global climate change. President Lula detailed these plans during a joint press conference held earlier on Monday.
