Corporate bankruptcies in Germany reached their highest level in over a decade last year, according to data released by the federal statistics office on Friday. Local courts registered 24,064 corporate insolvency filings, marking a 10.3% increase from the previous year. Volker Treier, the chief analyst for the German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), described 2025 as an especially weak year for the nation as a business hub.
"On average, a company files for bankruptcy every 20 minutes in Germany, and there is little hope that this year will bring relief."
