European equity markets reversed their recent gains on Wednesday as geopolitical tensions intensified following a reported strike on energy infrastructure in Iran. The pan-European STOXX 600 index closed 0.70% lower at 598.25, ending a two-day winning streak after having climbed as much as 0.67% earlier in the session.
