Switzerland and European Economic Area nations committed nearly 200 billion euros to the electric vehicle ecosystem, according to research group New Automotive. The investment aims to reduce reliance on China, which produced more than 80% of global batteries in 2025, including those used outside electric vehicles. The commitments include 109 billion euros for battery supply chains, 60 billion euros for vehicle manufacturing, and between 23 billion and 46 billion euros for public charging networks.
