The energy group Eni S.p.A., based in Italy, reported a 35% increase in its fourth-quarter adjusted net profit on Thursday, driven by solid growth in its exploration and production division. For the period between October and December, the company’s adjusted net profit reached 1.2 billion euros ($1.4 billion), up from 885 million euros in the same quarter of the previous year. This performance exceeded the analyst consensus of 960 million euros compiled by the group.
