Eni Boosts Share Buyback to 2.8 Billion Euros
The Italian energy group raised its buyback plan by 90 percent despite reporting a first quarter profit of 1.3 billion euros which fell short of analyst estimates.

ENI SPA has announced a significant expansion of its shareholder remuneration strategy, nearly doubling its planned share buyback program for the current year. The energy giant, headquartered in Italy, revealed on Friday that it will increase its share buyback to 2.8 billion euros ($3.27 billion), representing an approximate 90% surge from previous targets.
