Italy's state-controlled energy group Eni S.p.A. has outperformed market expectations for the final quarter of the year, posting a 35% surge in adjusted earnings. The results were primarily bolstered by a robust performance within its exploration and production division alongside improved refining margins. Between October and December, the company’s adjusted net profit reached 1.2 billion euros ($1.4 billion), significantly higher than the 960 million euros anticipated by analysts.
