Enel boosts investment target to 53 billion euros through 2028

Italy's largest utility Enel pledged today to increase its investment plan to 53 billion euros by 2028. The group also launched a billion euro buyback.

Enel announced on February 23, 2026, that it has pledged to increase its 2026–2028 investment plan by €10 billion, bringing the total for the period to approximately €53 billion. This significant expansion was announced alongside a new €1 billion share buyback program, which the company expects to execute by the end of July. This development represents a material company-level shift in capital allocation for the utility, which is the largest in Italy ITIT.
