Enbridge Sees Growth in Canadian Oil Re-exports from Gulf
Enbridge expects Canadian crude re-exports from the Gulf Coast to rise as pipelines expand. New capacity by 2027 will help meet demand in India and Africa.
Re-exports of heavy crude oil from Canada through the United States Gulf Coast are projected to increase significantly over the next decade. This growth is expected as several pipeline projects designed to carry more oil from the north to the southern U.S. coast reach completion, according to industry leaders.
Colin Gruending, the president of liquids pipelines for Enbridge Inc., explained that while the 2024 opening of the Trans Mountain pipeline redirected some supply toward the Pacific coast, new expansions on the Enbridge network will ensure a steady flow to the Gulf for international export. Gruending shared these insights during an interview at the CERAWeek conference, an event hosted by S&P Global Inc. in Houston.
