Einride to Deploy 75 Electric Trucks for Amazon in US
Einride will deploy 75 electric trucks and charging stations for Amazon at five US sites. The fleet will use proprietary AI software for logistics management.
The Sweden-based freight technology firm Einride has announced a partnership with AMAZON.COM INC to deploy 75 manually operated electric heavy-duty trucks. These vehicles, along with the necessary charging infrastructure, will be integrated into the e-commerce leader's freight network across five locations in the United States.
Einride will utilize its proprietary optimization software, Saga AI, to oversee the execution of electric vehicle operations for selected Amazon loads. This platform is designed to optimize logistics, including the detailed planning of charging schedules. By leveraging third-party operators that provide both vehicles and management software, Amazon aims to accelerate its transition to sustainable transport without needing to own and operate the entire asset base directly.
