ECB holds interest rates steady as inflation outlook remains on track for target
The ECB held interest rates steady today as officials monitor economic resilience. The bank remains data-dependent to reach its medium-term inflation goal.
The Governing Council (SY:Governing Council) of the European Central Bank (SY:European Central Bank) decided at its policy meeting today to keep the three key European Central Bank (SY:European Central Bank) interest rates unchanged. During the meeting, the Governing Council (SY:Governing Council) reconfirmed that inflation should stabilise at the 2% target of the European Central Bank (SY:European Central Bank) in the medium term. This decision preserves the current monetary policy stance across the Eurosystem (SY:Eurosystem).
