Dubai Aerospace to Buy Macquarie AirFinance for 7 Billion
Dubai Aerospace Enterprise is set to acquire Macquarie AirFinance for 7 billion dollars. The deal creates a fleet of over 1,000 planes to meet global demand.
Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) has reached an agreement to acquire the aircraft leasing firm Macquarie AirFinance for an enterprise value of approximately $7 billion. This strategic move is set to create a combined fleet of 1,029 aircraft, positioning the United Arab Emirates-based lessor as one of the largest players in the global aviation market. The acquisition followed a competitive bidding process, highlighting the intense investor interest in aviation assets during a period of significant supply constraints.
The deal comes as major aircraft manufacturers, including The Boeing Company and Airbus SE, struggle to accelerate production levels to satisfy surging airline demand. This environment has increased the strategic value of existing aircraft portfolios. The global leasing landscape is currently led by industry giants such as AerCap Holdings N.V. and SMBC Aviation Capital, both of which operate out of Ireland. Analysts believe this acquisition will elevate DAE into the top tier of these global lessors.
