The Democratic Republic of Congo
CD has announced plans to issue its debut international bond, expected to reach approximately $750 million, to finance a series of large-scale infrastructure projects. According to the Democratic Republic of Congo finance ministry, the move is designed to take advantage of current emerging-market conditions to establish an external yield curve. Officials stated that this benchmark could eventually unlock broader private-sector financing for the nation, which is characterized as a conflict-affected and mineral-rich country. The announcement, made on February 11, 2026, comes at a time when the country is experiencing a metals-market boom and strengthening its diplomatic and economic ties with the United States
US.
