Croda Hikes Prices Due to Middle East Conflict Costs
The UK chemicals firm reported a 1% rise in quarterly revenue to 431 million pounds. It is raising prices to counter inflation linked to the Middle East war.
CRODA INTERNATIONAL PLC, a specialty chemicals manufacturer headquartered in the United Kingdom, announced on Wednesday that it is raising prices to offset rising input costs. The decision comes as the company navigates inflationary pressures intensified by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
The firm, which provides essential ingredients for the beauty, agriculture, and pharmaceutical industries, had previously been streamlining its operations and tightening procurement to mitigate the impact of a softening market following tariffs introduced by the United States. However, the company now faces further risks from surging energy prices linked to the conflict involving Israel and Iran.
