OpenAI CEO Sam Altman holds over $2 billion in stakes across nine companies that contracted with his artificial intelligence firm, a court filing showed. The disclosure surfaced on Tuesday midday, May 13, during a $150 billion lawsuit brought by Elon Musk in the United States. Investors face heightened governance risks as ten state attorneys general and Congress probe potential self-dealing ahead of a planned IPO.
Musk's lead trial lawyer Steven Molo presented the document detailing Altman's holdings and their fair market value as of December 31, 2025. The filing lists a $1.7 billion stake in fusion power firm Helion Energy and $633 million in Stripe. Altman also holds $258 million in Retro Biosciences.
