Mexican Beer Demand Helps Constellation Brands Beat Estimates
The company reported an 11% sales drop that beat analyst expectations. Strong demand for Mexican beer brands helped offset a broader industry market slump.
CONSTELLATION BRANDS INC-A reported a narrower-than-anticipated decline in quarterly sales, bolstered by resilient consumer interest in its portfolio of beers from Mexico. While the broader alcohol market in the United States faced headwinds due to macroeconomic uncertainty, the company successfully leveraged marketing strategies and pricing adjustments to sustain interest in brands such as Modelo Especial, Corona, and Pacifico.
Net sales for the quarter fell 11% to $1.92 billion, outperforming the $1.88 billion anticipated by analysts. The company also reported an adjusted profit of $1.90 per share, significantly beating the consensus estimate of $1.72. Despite these results, management expressed caution regarding the near-term outlook, citing a volatile operating environment and limited visibility.
