Claro Brazil Open to New Deals After Desktop Purchase
Claro CEO Rodrigo Marques says the firm is reviewing new acquisition options in Brazil. The company recently bought a majority stake in internet provider Desktop.
The telecommunications giant Claro, a subsidiary of AMERICA MOVIL SAB DE C-SER B, has expressed a continued appetite for strategic acquisitions within Brazil. This signal follows the recent announcement of its deal to acquire the internet service provider DESKTOP SA.
Speaking at an event in Sao Paulo, the CEO of the company's Brazilian operations, Rodrigo Marques, indicated that the firm remains vigilant for market opportunities that align with its existing service infrastructure and consumer demands. The company, which is controlled by the family of billionaire Carlos Slim based in Mexico, maintains a nationwide presence but is particularly focused on strengthening its regional clusters.
