CK Hutchison Reports Profit Rise Amid Ongoing Port Sale
CK Hutchison posted a 7 percent rise in 2025 underlying profit. The group remains in talks for a ports sale despite ongoing legal complications in Panama.
CK HUTCHISON HOLDINGS LTD has confirmed that it remains in active negotiations regarding the sale of a majority stake in its global ports business. The announcement comes as the conglomerate navigates a complex legal dispute with authorities in Panama and reports a 7% increase in underlying profit for the 2025 fiscal year. The company, which is based in Hong Kong, has found itself at the center of geopolitical tensions following objections from the United States regarding the ownership of maritime infrastructure near the strategically vital Panama Canal.
Frank Sixt, the group's co-managing director and finance director, addressed the status of the divestment during a recent media briefing. He noted that the company is continuing to engage with both the original buyers and potential new partners from China.
