CITIGROUP INC has appointed Henning Wagner as the new Head of Private Company Coverage for Germany and Austria. Wagner is scheduled to join the firm in the third quarter of 2026, transitioning from his previous role at DEUTSCHE BANK AG-REGISTERED.

The strategic appointment is part of Citigroup's broader initiative to expand its market presence and deepen its engagement with major private enterprises in the region. According to an internal memo, the bank is focused on increasing its wallet share by targeting large privately held companies and their principal owners.
The appointment reflects Citis ongoing commitment to deepening our coverage and growing our wallet share.
The bank identified significant growth opportunities within the German and Austrian markets, particularly in providing specialized financial services to high-value private entities. By strengthening its leadership team, the institution aims to better serve the complex needs of these organizations and their stakeholders.
