CITIC Securities Quarterly Profit Jumps 55 Percent
The Chinese brokerage reported a net profit of 10.2 billion yuan for the first quarter as high trading volumes boosted commission income. Trading activity in the A-share market rose 70 percent amid growing investor interest in domestic stocks.
China's leading brokerage, CITIC SECURITIES CO-A, reported a significant 54.6% surge in first-quarter net profit, reaching 10.216 billion yuan ($1.49 billion). This performance comfortably exceeded the average analyst estimate of 8.370 billion yuan, according to LSEG data, as the firm capitalized on robust trading activity within domestic capital markets.
The brokerage attributed the growth to a positive trajectory in the financial landscape during the first three months of 2026. High trading volumes drove a 47.8% year-on-year increase in brokerage fees and commission revenue, which totaled 4.915 billion yuan. Average daily trading turnover in the A-share market reached approximately 2.58 trillion yuan, a 70% increase from the previous year, signaling sustained investor confidence.
