China is intensifying a multi-year anti-corruption campaign targeting high-ranking securities officials as part of a broader effort to restore confidence among international investors. The move comes as Beijing seeks to polish the reputation of its regulatory framework and stabilize domestic markets while global capital begins to return to the region.

Prosecutors announced on Tuesday that Wang Jianjun, the former vice chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), is under investigation for allegedly accepting substantial bribes and abusing his authority for personal gain. Wang served in his leadership role from 2021 until April 2025, and the CSRC has publicly supported the probe as a sign of the nation's unwavering stance against graft.
