洞察:
China Asset Management Co. Ltd. , known as China's largest provider of exchange-traded funds, has expanded its reach into Southeast Asia by launching two flagship ETFs in Thailand on December 29, 2024. The ETFs, which track the CSI 300 Index and STAR 50 Index , are now available as depository receipts on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET). This move is a part of a broader strategy to deepen financial cooperation between China CNCNand Thailand THTH under the Belt and Road Initiative framework.
The ETFs, named ChinaAMC CSI 300 ETF (Thailand) and ChinaAMC STAR 50 ETF (Thailand) , offer Thai investors the opportunity to trade Chinese equities in real-time using Thai baht, without the need for overseas accounts. The products come with the advantage of capital gains tax exemptions, providing a significant incentive for local investors. InnovestX Securities, a Thai securities firm, facilitated the issuance and market-making of these depository receipts.
