The United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is shifting its enforcement focus toward policing misconduct in prediction markets and manipulation within energy markets. David Miller, the agency's new enforcement director, identified these core priorities on Tuesday during his first public remarks since joining the commission earlier this month. The agency also plans to target market abuse such as spoofing and willful violations of anti-money laundering laws.

Recent activity in prediction markets has drawn significant attention, particularly well-timed trades occurring ahead of major policy decisions by President Donald Trump. These trades have reportedly generated millions in profits for unknown participants, leading to increased regulatory scrutiny.
