Hong Kong's flagship carrier reported a net profit of HK$10.83 billion for the past year. The result exceeded analyst estimates due to strong passenger demand.
Hong Kong's flagship carrier, Cathay Pacific Airways, reported a 9.5% increase in full-year profit on Wednesday, driven by robust passenger growth and a steady performance in cargo operations. The airline's net profit for the year ending December 31 reached HK$10.83 billion ($1.38 billion), surpassing the HK$10.05 billion projected by LSEG SmartEstimates and the HK$9.89 billion recorded in 2024.

The robust financial results highlight the ongoing recovery of the aviation sector in the region. Cathay Pacific has successfully leveraged increased travel interest and expanded flight capacity to maintain its position as a primary link for global trade and transit through its hub.
