Carlsberg reports higher Q1 revenue and beer volumes
The brewer reported a 3.6% rise in organic revenue to 20.72 billion crowns. While volumes grew, the firm warned of volatility from conflict in the Middle East.
CARLSBERG-A grew organic revenue 3.6% to 20.72 billion Danish crowns in the first quarter, beating analyst estimates of 20.63 billion crowns. The Denmark based brewer, the world's third-largest brewer, outperformed volume expectations despite broader industry pressure from geopolitical instability and rising input costs. Strong volume growth suggests resilient consumer demand, though regional conflicts threaten to disrupt supply chains and margins later this year.
### Volume Growth Defies Industry Slump Organic volumes rose 2.8% during the quarter, surpassing forecasts as the maker of Kronenbourg 1664 and Tuborg gained market share. This performance contrasts with the wider brewing sector, where rivals ANHEUSER-BUSCH INBEV SA/NV and HEINEKEN NV have struggled with sluggish sales.
