A recent study published by the Brookings Institution indicates that the aggressive tariff policies enacted by the United States during the past year resulted in a minimal shift in national economic output. The academic paper, which examined the short-term consequences of these trade barriers, found that the net impact on the economy ranged from a slight increase of 0.1% to a decrease of 0.13% of GDP, depending on how domestic demand responded to price changes.
