Britain Imposes Sanctions on Iranian Officials and Security Body Following Recent Protests

The measures, which include asset freezes, director disqualifications, and travel bans, come in response to alleged serious human rights violations connected to recent protests in Iran
IR. These sanctions target entities and individuals accused of suppressing freedom of expression and restricting peaceful assembly, as well as specific breaches of the right to life.
Among those designated are senior police chiefs, figures from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and members of the judiciary accused of directing violent repression. The government stated that these individuals and judges have been involved in excessive sentencing or proceedings that abuse human rights.
