Bridgepoint to Buy German Identity Firm iC Consult
The British investment firm agreed to purchase the German identity security specialist in a deal valued at up to 450 million euros. The acquisition aims to accelerate international expansion and AI service development.
British investment firm BRIDGEPOINT GROUP has reached an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Germany-based identity security specialist iC Consult from Carlyle. The transaction, which is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, marks a significant expansion for the United Kingdom-based private equity group in the cybersecurity sector.
While official financial terms were not disclosed, a source familiar with the matter indicated the deal values iC Consult between 400 million euros and 450 million euros. Carlyle, which originally invested in the firm in 2021, will fully exit its position as part of the sale. Under the leadership of founder Juergen Biermann, iC Consult has established itself as a key player in managing digital access rights for major organizations.
