Frigol Targets 60 Percent Beef Output Growth in 2026
The company expects to process over 1 million head of cattle in 2026 through deals in Rondonia. These partnerships will expand export access to China and the US.
The beef processor Frigol is targeting a 60% increase in production capacity by 2026 through strategic partnerships in Brazil. CEO Luciano Pascon announced that the company aims to leverage new agreements with slaughterhouses in the northern state of Rondonia to expand its global reach. The deals with DistriBoi and RioBeef, which cover three facilities, are expected to lift annual slaughter volumes from 650,000 head in 2025 to more than 1 million head by 2026.
Under the operational structure of these agreements, Frigol will manage cattle procurement and product sales, while the partner facilities handle the processing. This strategy is specifically designed to navigate the evolving trade landscape in China, which remains the primary destination for Brazilian beef exports. Although Beijing has implemented restrictive quotas and a 55% tariff on shipments exceeding 1 million metric tons, the inclusion of these two plants allows the company to strengthen its market position.
