Boeing Co reported a fourth-quarter 2025 net profit of $8.22 billion, or $10.23 per share, representing a significant swing from the $3.86 billion loss, or $5.46 per share, recorded during the same period in 2024. Despite the headline profitability, shares of Boeing Codropped approximately 2.5 percent in early trading on January 27, 2026, as investors reacted to larger-than-expected losses in the company’s core commercial and defense units. Fourth-quarter revenue rose 57 percent to $23.95 billion, comfortably exceeding analyst expectations of approximately $22.6 billion.
The quarterly profit was primarily driven by the $10.6 billion sale of the digital aviation services provider Jeppesen to Thoma Bravo. On an adjusted basis, Boeing Coearned 32 cents per share, which surpassed the 39-cent loss per share forecast by Wall Street analysts. While the headline figures improved, the commercial airplane division posted a quarterly loss of $632 million, and the defense and space division reported a loss of $507 million. The defense unit was impacted by a $565 million charge on the KC-46 aerial-refueling tanker program, which was attributed to higher estimated production support and supply chain costs. Chief Executive Officer Kelly Ortberg kelly ortbergstated that he expects this KC-46 charge to be a one-time event.
