Boeing Delivers 46 Jets in March Amid 737 MAX Wiring Rework
Boeing delivered 46 jets in March as wiring repairs on 25 737 MAX planes slowed output. The planemaker still led Airbus in total first-quarter deliveries.
BOEING CO/THE reported a decrease in aircraft deliveries for March as the company worked to resolve wiring issues on several of its 737 MAX jets. The United States-based manufacturer delivered 46 jets during the month, down from 51 in February, though this figure surpassed the 41 deliveries recorded in March of the previous year. The slowdown was attributed to necessary rework on approximately 25 aircraft to address damaged wiring.
While Boeing did not specify the exact number of deliveries delayed by the repairs, Chief Financial Officer Jay Malave provided guidance on the expected impact during a statement in March.
