BNP Paribas targets 385 billion euros in alternative assets
BNP Paribas aims to grow alternative assets to 385 billion euros by 2030. The bank expects these investments to drive growth and double its pretax income.
BNP Paribas S.A. is prioritizing alternative assets, including private credit, to fuel growth within its investment division over the coming years. Despite emerging volatility in these markets, the bank headquartered in France intends to expand its alternative assets under management by 28%, reaching 385 billion euros ($444 billion) by 2030.
The expansion strategy includes a target of 85 billion euros in net new money, positioning alternatives as a primary growth engine. While the group currently manages 1.62 trillion euros, it anticipates 350 billion euros in total net inflows through 2030, meaning alternative investments will represent approximately one-quarter of all new capital. Growth in the alternatives sector is forecast at approximately 5% to 6% per year, outpacing the bank's core active and exchange-traded fund businesses.
